Having lived here my entire adult life, I know one thing for certain and that is simply put, Oak Park has so much to offer. Oak Park is the first suburb located just west of Chicago. Oak Park has a very deep and rich history which includes being the birthplace of Prairie School architecture and it is the home of the world's largest collection of Frank Lloyd Wright homes.
Oak Park is known as a diverse, exciting, and very desirable place to live. Rich in culture and architecture, there are many art galleries, studios, and antique shops. Oak Park is also the birthplace of Ernest Hemingway. Read more about our local attractions in Oak Park.
There are more than 100 great restaurants in the area representing all areas of the world. Ask me about my favorites!
Oak Park has excellent transportation serviced by 3 train lines, a highway system, and bus routes which enables you to be in downtown Chicago within 17-25 minutes! Both airports are about 20 minutes away as is the Oak Brook shopping center to our west. You simply cannot beat Oak Park's location!

The main branch of the Oak Park Library features over 100,000 sq ft which includes a children's room on the first floor. Oak Park Parks gives you great information on the many parks and recreational programs offered to the residents of Oak Park.
The Historical Society of Oak Park has painstakingly gathered up the past with pictures and stories to delight and educate us. From our tender beginnings back in 1835 when Joesph and Betty Kettlestrings built their home near the corner of Lake and Harlem to the first African American to live in Oak Park, Mr. Percy Lavon Julian, the historical society will remain the keepers of the past. We are very proud to have the greatest collection of homes designed by architect Frank Lloyd Wright.

| Downtown Oak Park even has its own old time art deco movie theater. The Lake Theater has been restored with seven screens playing all current releases. If stadium seating theater is your preference there is a CineMark Theater just 3 miles away. |
